Neighbor, relationships

If your neighbor knocks on your door with his own intentions in mind (borrowing a cup of sugar? inviting you to a party? canvassing for a political candidate?), don’t interrupt him to ask when he’s going to do something about repairing his fence. It’s rude, and it won’t get you anywhere, anyway. If you wait, you may even decide the fence situation isn’t worth upsetting a nice relationship with your neighbor.
